Salt

They say that sometimes we should learn to take things with a pinch of salt.
Alas, we don’t have a pinch nor a tinch of salt left onboard. Yes you read it right! So how are we managing you wonder?
Last three days have been spent experimenting various resources. The sea water came as the first obvious answer. We declared a day for dandi (Tarini) march in a bid to discover and create some edible salt-boiling sea water, making our meals in sea water, taking outlets from onboard RO plant, having ORS, etc etc. All of these failed to satisfy the taste of the crew though. ‘Salt’ became the agenda for survival for the coming times. Everyday we would talk salt, dream salt and even watch ‘Salt’:D Luckily we managed to find a decent substitute for it called the ‘Sel Au Celeri’, that we had bought back in Mauritius. To say the least, this little bottle came out as a saviour. It is no salt but it certainly is salty. And is working okay with almost all the meals. Also, we have our meals with pickle to make up for the saltlessness. We are using our little bottle judiciously so it can last for the leftover days to our destination.
The infamous doldrums of the equatorial belt are back to greet us. Glassiness of the sea is an indicator to it and so is our restlessnesss due to the windlessness that exists. While a heavy weather brings us to action in a jiffy thereby testing our reflexes, it’s the windlessness that makes us wait and tests our patience. Sweet, at times salty are the nuances of the sea! And ye, we do take it with a pinch of salt!
At the end, some salty gossips live from TT (Team Tarini)

‘Samandar me nahake aur bhi namkeen ho gayi ho’
TT:- Dude is there an option at all?

‘ Tune mera namak khaya hai, le ab goli kha’
TT:- Goli kyu, ‘Sel Au celeri’ hai na!!:D

‘Hey you Namak haram’
TT-Hey man, no namak so no Aaram

TT- Hey man where is my labcoat and pipette, Im off to my lab to make some salt.’
TT- Im off for dandi march today Gandhiji, bless me.

‘Namak ho tata ka tata namak.
Triple refined iodine. Badhte bacho k liye’
Why didn’t you include the bachiyaan. How sexist!

I think the salt is getting on us!

                                                        THIS IS NOT THE END…

I'm leaving on a sailboat

All my bags are packed I am ready to go..
Bags were packed a week ago
Only thing that held me were the ropes

So I am leaving on a sailboat
Dont know if Il be back again
Dont hold me now and just you letme go,
Oh Oh Mauri, just letme go..

Ive had a great time in your streets
Il miss the hot chocolate and the sweets
The bubble baths and hot showers I cherish

You have been much more than pleasant to me
I just about got so comfy
I forgot that I had had to go

Now Iv got to leave on a sailboat
which is where my my home is
which is what will also take me home,

So Im leaving on a sailboat..
ye Im leaving on a sailboat..
Lo Im leaving on a sailboat..
Ah Im leaving on a sailboat..
